Position: Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Bowie State University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor. The Assistant Professor of Psychology will teach courses in the discipline; advises psychology majors and serves on departmental, college, and university committees. In addition to that, the successful candidate should be able to teach Child/Development Psychology and other courses related to his/her area of expertise. Experience integrating technology into the teaching process and/or teaching in a variety of modes (hybrid and online course). Furthermore, the incumbent will have a commitment to teaching excellence; academic advising experience; departmental, college and university-wide service; and community and professional involvement.

Bowie State University is a public historically black university in Prince George’s County, Maryland, north of Bowie. It is part of the University System of Maryland. Founded in 1865, Bowie State is Maryland’s oldest historically black university and one of the ten oldest in the country. Bowie State is a member school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Altogether, BSU has 22 undergraduate majors, 19 master’s programs, two doctoral programs, and 14 certificate programs. Likewise, degree programs include in disciplines as diverse as computer science, education, human resource development, organizational communication, and nursing.
