Position: Associate or Assistant Professor of Psychology
Judson University is an evangelical Christian liberal arts university in Elgin, Illinois. The university has campuses in Elgin and Rockford, Illinois, and a student body of approximately 1,300. Judson University has more than 60 undergraduate majors, minors and pre-professional programs and is currently the only evangelical Christian college or university to offer a fully accredited graduate program in architecture. About role
The Psychology Department of the Judson University invites the qualified applicant to apply for a faculty position for Psychology. In particular, the incumbent will do the following functions
- Teach undergraduate courses in the Psychology Department with a primary focus in courses related to counseling, including but not limited to Counseling Theories, Marriage and the Family, Basic Helping, Trauma, and Crisis Intervention, and Health Aspects/Chemical Dependency.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate students in the Psychology Department as well as serve as a team player by collaborating with faculty to foster student and program success
- Conduct scholarly work in the form of research and/or service to the profession. Similarly, maintain active memberships in relevant professional associations/organizations
- Serve on departmental and university committees.
- Furthermore, complete any additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum requirements
In order to be fit for the position
- Terminal degree (master’s degree, doctorate preferred) in Psychology or related field; demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith.
- Support Christian liberal arts education, with the ability to integrate faith in the discipline in an engaging and compelling manner.
- Furthermore, collaborative skills to work with colleagues in the department and throughout the University.
