About position
Maynooth University (also known as the National University in Maynooth) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced psychology graduate to assist in the research that will be conducted under the Psychology of Cybersecurity and Human Factors. He/She might also need to involve in teaching activities depending on their private interests, knowledge, and experience, and potentially contribute to other current EU projects in the areas of border security and policing.
Roles and responsibilities
The position holder needs to perform the following duties
- Working under the supervision of principal investigator Dr. Michael Cooke, and in collaboration with
a team of researchers in the Department of Psychology and Maynooth University Social Science
Institute; - Leading project tasks and taking initiative in terms of work package leadership and administration;
- Conducting fieldwork for gathering data on-site in different countries;
- Systematic reviews;
- Performing data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), and writing reports;
- Liaising with the coordinator other members of the consortium;
- Leading the preparation and timely delivery of high-quality project deliverables;
- Representing the College at consortium and work package meetings and workshops
- Presenting results at workshops and conferences;
- Actively assisting and contributing to the writing of academic papers for publication;
- Assisting in the development and submission of new research proposals to EU and other funding
agencies.
Required skills and qualifications
- A legal right to work in the EU;
- A Ph.D. in psychology, social science, cybersecurity, human-computer interaction, or related
discipline; - Good knowledge of Cyberpsychology, cybersecurity, human factors, or interaction design methods;
- Experience in the user-centered evaluation of technology;
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills, including in-depth analysis of verbal data;
- Good interviewing and fieldwork skills;
- Experience of working in an academic environment, including teaching;
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel in Europe, and be in possession of a valid passport;
- Experience of project management;
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
