About Position
The University of Kent is seeking a talented, highly qualified and experienced Research Associate in Healthcare Data Management. The position holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership project in conjunction with the Knowledge Base Team. In addition to that, he/she will be accountable for developing and implementing a new approach to IVF termed, ‘Embryo Endometrial Dialogue (EED)’, for the diagnosis of genetic disease in human embryos to clinical application for the London Women’s Clinic.
Key Duties
- Work as part of the Clinical and Scientific teams.
- Hold regular training sessions embedding new knowledge in all Clinics on a regular basis.
- Attend regular meetings within LWC’s Clinics to publicize, spread best practice and share the new knowledge required in delivering EED.
- Contribute information in the form of articles to be included in LWC websites, in-house newsletter, and magazine (OVA), advertising material, articles and posters for publishing in international conferences and journals.
- Liaison with Company and University partners and organizing project meetings.
- Dissemination of results through a variety of means, including academic publications, conference and workshop talks, and running workshops for patients and clinicians.
- Makes presentations to staff, external professionals and patients.
- Contributions to, and development of, teaching and training resources for using the technology.
Required skills and qualifications
- MSc in relevant subject area preferably Reproductive Medicine,
- First degree in biological sciences at least 2.1 level or equivalent,
- Experience of a busy IVF clinic,
- Experience of an appropriate embryo manipulation and analysis system and knowledge of reproductive from a scientific and ethical standpoint are desirable,
- Knowledge of the mechanisms of early human development, the role of chromosome errors and of the endometrium,
- Evidence for skills in genetic analysis, embryo manipulation, and analysis of large dataset containing clinic IVF data
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both spoken and written to publication level,
