Details

A Christain University in Houston of Texas is seeking qualified and highly technically caliber HVAC Technician. The incumbent will oversee the Technical works around the university and reports directly to the Director of Maintenance Operations.

Key duties

In particular, the position holder will do the following functions

 

  • Performs in preventive, corrective, and general maintenance and installation of HVAC systems.
  • Records daily maintenance activities log and produce periodic reports.
  • Similarly, assist other Maintenance and Operations staff with the performance of their duties as needed.
  • Be available remotely to assist with HVAC and control issues outside of working hours on call.
  • Also, actively follows college, state, and federal guidelines regarding safety and helps ensure that others in the department do as well.
  • Maintain, monitor and modify HVAC control systems as required as well as capable of safely operating powered equipment.
  • Furthermore, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

  • Educational background normally equivalent to high school education with additional course work in skilled crafts or trades training preferred.
  • Candidate must have a valid Texas driving license.
  • Minimum three (3) years HVAC experience including residential and commercial systems. However, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Significant experience in HVAC control troubleshooting and operation.
  • Must be well organized and possess interpersonal communication skills. Also, the ability to understand and follow and issue directions given orally and in writing, and must be able to read and understand blueprints.

Additional Information

Work involves continuous or near-continuous exposure to unpleasant elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, chemicals, etc.

Position requires considerable physical exertion. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Work is often done at significant heights, performed from a ladder or scaffolding.

Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks that require following basic safety precautions including ladder and scaffolding safety.
