Position Overview

  • The University seeks an entrepreneurial, strategic, and self-motivated development professional to join a high-performing team as a Director of Major Gifts (DMG).
  • Additionally, assuming a frontline fundraising role and advancing meaningful relationships with alumni, friends, and parents, the DMG will help increase the College’s fundraising capacity by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects with the capacity to make a major gift.
  • Furthermore, this is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished major gifts officer to join a world-class academic institution on the ground floor of what will be a historic campaign.

Duties

The incumbent will do the following duties

  • Build and manage a portfolio of 100-125 major gift prospects to include identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting a pool of alumni, parent, and friend prospects.
  • Also, actively solicit gifts at the $100K to $1M+ level.
  • Likewise, work diligently to achieve mutually established goals.
  • Champion the work of DMSB to prospective donors, and function as an intermediary both internally and externally for the work of the School.
  • Also, he/she will help to articulate a case for support for research, education and capital needs that meet the strategic goals of DMSB.
  • Coordinate efforts with central University Advancement, including Planned Giving, Family Philanthropy, and Prospect Development as needed, as well as other DMSB-based Development staff, to successfully meet donor interests and leverage their full philanthropic potential.
  • Similarly, demonstrate subject matter expertise in the areas of business, technology, finance, and management.

Qualifications
