Responsibilities
The incumbents will do the following duties as a Reception Assistant at Houston Community College
- They should answer and transfer telephone calls, handling multiple lines;
- Also, they should expedite phone calls by giving clear, concise, specific information
- They will provide excellent customer service to all callers and visitors as well as current and correct information to visitors and callers.
- Additionally, they will provide students with general information about registration, financial aid, testing, counseling, etc., and refers students to appropriate person or department
- Furthermore, they should greet visitors and directs them to appropriate personnel or department
- Moreover, they should maintain and update the phone list for college offices and departments.
Qualifications
The interested candidates require the following qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- One year of related experience required; two years preferred.
- Also. they prefer switchboard experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication skills, including phone skills;
- Knowledge of schedule, catalog, events, calendar, and other colleges/system events and activities;
- Knowledge of all telephone functions, such as hold, transfer, conference calls, etc.
- Ability to listen and to understand oral communication;
- Customer service skills
- Also, neat personal appearance.
