Job Summary
The George Mason University, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) seeks a dynamic individual to support the research efforts of Mason faculty as a Research Administrator. Additionally, OSP supports external funding for research, scholarly and creative pursuits while ensuring the university’s financial, contractual, and regulatory exposures are minimized. Likewise, OSP provides guidance and support to the university’s community in its research efforts.
Duties
- Processing employee-related paperwork including funding change forms for labor distribution changes; entering EPAFs in Banner, and maintaining personnel spreadsheets and records;
- Additionally, processing direct expenses (i.e., travel, consultant payments, subcontract invoicing, tuition, purchasing of goods); and maintaining logs and records;
- Also, assisting with travel arrangements and events management;
- Performing reconciliations ensuring that any corrective actions are taken in a timely manner;
- Likewise, assisting with the monitoring of awards for financial and research compliance;
- Providing general administrative support;
- Furthermore, coordinating and communicating with faculty, staff, and administrators across multiple disciplines;
- In addition to that, handling sensitive and confidential employee and budgetary information in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications for Vacancy for Research Administrator
Minimum
- Highly developed time-management, problem-resolution, and organizational skills;
- Additionally, the ability to foster an environment that supports teamwork, collaboration, and high-quality customer service;
- Also, the applicant must be: (i) a citizen of the United States; (ii) a person who is a lawful permanent resident of the United States (a “Green Card” holder); (iii) a person who is a “protected individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3); or (iv) a person who is otherwise able to become generally eligible to receive unclassified technical data pursuant to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Similarly, a sponsored program and/or university experience;
- Also, proficient in Microsoft Office products to include Excel (intermediate) and Word.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
