About position

The incumbent will join the large and dynamic team to work together in the Functional Ingredients Laboratory. routine analysis using IC, HPLC, and LC-MS on food ingredients and products and pharmaceutical products. In addition to that, s/he will be managing and designing several projects based on clients’ needs and overseeing junior staff who will support you on these projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a range of routine and investigative analysis using IC, HPLC, LC-MS independently and provide an interpretation of results. Similarly, perform method development, validation, method transfers and prepare protocols and reports.
• Provide training and supervise junior staff in routine activities and methods.
• Responsible for the maintenance of equipment including checking and approving supplier’s reports (qualifications, repairs and preventative reports).
• To liaise with clients, business development and line management to ensure effective communication of project proposals and results including presentations.
• Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHH, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed. Similarly, assist with the documentation of SOPs for simple equipment and tests and generation of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
• To understand and work to the requirements of GMP and/or UKAS.

Required skills and qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or any relevant areas in Science
• In addition to that, experience in a previous role using IC, HPLC and/or LC-MS under GMP and/or UKAS requirements.
• Following, good verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate with clients and colleagues. Similarly, fluent in English (written as well as spoken).
• Moreover, project management experience preferred.
