Position: Associate Knowledge Management Specialist
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization is the specialized agency of the United Nations with headquarter in Paris. UNESCO’s aim is “to contribute to the building of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue through education, the sciences, culture, communication, and information”. Altogether, UNESCO has 193 member states and 11 associate members.
About position
In general, the incumbent will join the team responsible for promoting and supporting knowledge management and online collaboration platforms. Furthermore, the team operates to assure the proper functioning of assigned solutions and applications. In addition to that, the position holder will contribute to the maintenance, user support, and functional enhancements. Here are some of the major responsibilities that the Associate Knowledge Management Specialist performs
- Handle the online management and tool management as well as provide user support.
- Collect and analyze user needs in the area of online sharing and collaboration. Also, advise users on the relevant current or future solutions.
- Participate in the conception, development, and promotion of knowledge management solutions, including project management/coordination.
- Similarly, organize and conduct training in the use of online knowledge management and collaboration tools.
- Regularly share relevant knowledge internally and with external partners.
Skills and qualifications
- University degree in Information Technology, Information Management, or relevant field. In addition to that, a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in information technology or information management.
- Proven experience in coordinating IT projects.
- Good knowledge of MS SharePoint (administration and user support).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan. Similarly, capable to work efficiently under pressure and in a multitasking manner, respecting tight deadlines and delivering on the standards required;
- Ability to communicate effectively on complex technology issues as well as to conduct training of users.
