Donor Compliance Adviser position is available in Legal and Donor Compliance department of Marie Stopes International.
About the Position
- Ensures that MSI does not enter into commitments with donors or partners that cannot be fulfilled by the organisation or are not in accordance with MSI’s internal policies or do not uphold the organisation’s best interest.
- S/he is also responsible for making sure that such commitments made to donors are respected and met by MSI, so that projects and programmes are implemented in accordance to the donors’ regulations and expectations.
- Provides qualified advice to and informs departments across MSI (e.g. international operations, country programmes, donor leads, programme design and development)
- Develops, sets up and disseminates systems (i.e. policies, procedures, workflows, tools etc.) that facilitate organisational quality control and meeting donors’ requirements, and to gain time efficiencies.
- Monitors the accuracy of the data included in the Funding Management System (information system gathering data on MSI’s donor funding).
- S/he works closely with the other advisors and the head of the unit, so that to ensure collective learning. S/he also has a strong collaboration lines with the regional teams, MSI’s donor lead teams, finance-related teams and the programme design and development team.
Salary
£34-40,000 (dependant on experience)
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent, in relevant field – Essential. Master degree – Desirable.
- Working knowledge of French – Essential for one position and Desirable for two positions.
- In addition, Training in law or accounting – Desirable.
- Training in project cycle management, NGO management, donor fundraising or other areas related to funding management in the context of development and humanitarian work by international organisations – Desirable.
- Working knowledge of Spanish – Desirable.
- Experience working in at least one of the following areas – Essential:
- working overseas in project management with an international organisation in the development or humanitarian sector; and/or
- working on the financial aspects involved in project implementation overseas and related donor’s requirements; and/or
- working with the legal aspects of contract management, from legal, commercial or INGO practice.
- Experience in providing remote support to programme implementation teams (e.g. country teams) and to HQ-based teams – Essential.
- Likewise, Experience in coordinating tasks, gathering information, facilitating consensus etc. between different stakeholders – Essential.
- Experience of managing cross-organisational projects, generating interest and buy-in from other relevant parties – Essential.
- Similarly, Experience working with Microsoft Office package, with strong skills in Word – Essential.
