The international humanitarian organization FHI 360 announces vacancy for the Senior Finance Manager for managing, preparing, administering and directing the control of the budget for country offices in Kabul, Afghanistan. In addition to that, position will be responsible for managing the activities of the finance staff as well as reviewing and approving recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to executive management team. Develops and manages internal financial audits. Develops formal reporting system to communicate results of audit activities.

Responsibilities

• Managing the operational and strategic functions of the finance department to ensure compliance and efficiency among country offices.
• Similarly, reviewing and analyzing monthly financial reports regarding budgets- actual and forecast
• Providing recommendations as well as consulting with management on financial projects and compliances supporting country offices.
• Developing and implementing process improvement plans for department to ensure financial controls and operational procedures.
• Participating and also providing financial reporting for annual budget planning, audit reviews and assessments.
• Furthermore, building and training staff on financial policies and procedures, GAAP practices and client relationships.

Additional Duties 

• Working on problems of complex scope that require in depth evaluation of data and various factors.
• Exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, for obtaining results.
• Managing staff to meet departmental and organizational strategic goals.
• Accounting for the budget, procedures, and training of staff to achieve results.
• Developing as well as recommending solutions to management meet internal and external needs of the company.
• Furthermore, reporting to a Director and carrying out other several tasks as necessary.

Requirements 

The eligibilities for this vacancy of Senior Finance Manager at FHI 360 in Afghanistan are as follows:-

• Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent. In addition to that, at least eight years finance management experience.
• Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English as well as should be fluent in host country language.
• Prior work in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time as well as the ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
• Expert in use of personal Computer, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, cell phones, PDAs and other hand held devices.
• Furthermore, the candidate must be flexible and willing to travel if necessary.
