Position: Electronics Technician
About IAEA
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an international organization with headquarter in Vienna that promotes the peaceful use of Nuclear Energy. It works to prevent using nuclear energy for military purposes including nuclear weapons. The IAEA reports to both the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council.
Roles and responsibilities
In addition to reporting to the supervisor of the Technical Support Group, successful appointee will carry out the following duties
Maintain, repair and upgrade electronic equipment, under the guidance and supervision of the Supervisor, Technical Support Group.
Check the operation and condition of equipment and systems for fault location. Also, repairing various equipment and systems and a multitude of other high-precision electronic components.
Monitor and coordinate with contracting firms, ensuring work is carried out with or without minor interruptions.
Similarly, carry out preventative maintenance activities, including the upgrading of technical infrastructure, as required by the laboratory programs.
Conduct in-house relevant workshops maintain stocks, and complete documentation (in case of supervisor’s absence).
Assist others outside the area of specialization, as needed as well as participate in the Laboratory maintenance on-call scheme.
Requirements
Completed secondary education. In addition to that, a minimum of four years of relevant experience in maintaining and repairing electronic systems.
Good understanding of the modern techniques utilized in all electronic systems including all safety aspects thereof.
Excellent oral and written command of English and German. However, knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
English language test (Level 2) to IAEA standard.
