Position description 

Primarily, the successful applicants will join the faculty and teach in the Hattiesburg campus. But the appointee might also need to teach on the Long Beach campus from time to time. In addition to teaching, an assistant professor might need to engage in an active research/scholarship agenda as well as pursue external funding to support their scholarship. Similarly, s/he may also need to participate in school, university, professional, and community service.

Key duties

• Teach courses in the BSW and MSW programs.
• Maintain an active research/scholarship agenda as well as pursue external funding to support scholarly activities.
• Engage in service to the school, university, community, and field of social work.
• Also, mentor and advise students in their academic, research, and service interests.
• Furthermore, perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualifications in order to be eligible for this Social Work Professor Vacancy at University of Southern Mississippi

• Minimum MSW and Ph.D. in social work or a related field. However, ABD’s nearing completion of their dissertation is considerable
• Two or more years of post-MSW experience and Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Furthermore, licensure at the LCSW level and an established record of scholarship are desirable.
