Programme Management Officer position is available United Nations Environment Programme at UN office in Switzerland. This post is in the UN Environment/ Economy Division, at the Geneva duty station. The incumbent works under the overall supervision of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) secretariat Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Project management duties for execution of SAICM GEF projects, including tracking overall project progress, communicating with partners and stakeholders, overseeing donor reporting and project review.
- Also, Lead the development and implementation of the SAICM knowledge management strategy, including a comprehensive list of needs (technical and substantive) for consideration in its development; working with technology development partners in implementing the project developments.
- Day-to-day management of the SAICM knowledge management platform and related activities, including consultation with SAICM GEF project members, SAICM stakeholders and UN Environment staff.
- Likewise, Support the SAICM Secretariat in the creation and maintenance of the different sections of the knowledge management platform; plan and undertake training or awareness raising on the new platform
- Furthermore, Organize the knowledge management platform public launch
- Develop analysis and reports to populate the Knowledge Management platform; produce diagnostic reports on initiatives, resources and geographical and sectoral representation of members and initiatives in the knowledge management platform
Qualifications and Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in information technology, engineering, environmental sciences, environmental management, law or a related field, or a first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience instead
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in knowledge management , information technology platforms as well as experience in project management or related area
- Experience working in a multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary context is desirable.
- Good understanding of sustainable development and familiarity with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is desirable.
- Fluency in oral as well as written English
