Position: Training Specialist at the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization
Key duties
- Assist the Project Team Leader in:
- Preparing project implementation plans, annual work plans and knowledge management plan of the project, in consultation with key stakeholders among participating line agencies and local government units.
- Executing the project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system, and consolidate various technical reports from different implementing agents/project sites and draft the accomplishment reports.
- Maintaining adequate communication and coordination with participating agencies and NGOs.
- Preparing reports related to the project, as well as minutes of meetings, correspondence letters and other communication materials in coordination with Communication Specialist.
- Prepare and conduct a training plan based on all the training requirements of the project according to the project components and project result matrix, ensuring that the specific needs of men and women are taken into consideration.
- Similarly, coordinate the implementation of the training plan, and lead in the conduct of trainings in coordination with the Project Team including the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) regional coordinator, provincial MAFAR coordinators, and the concerned Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Ministries and other government agencies (e.g. TESDA, PhilMech, DA-ATI, PhilRice, DA RFOs, academe, etc.).
- Provide insights to the project institutional partners and relevant NGOs, private organizations, government agencies, and individuals for the development of training modules and conduct of training activities.
- Furthermore, carry out any other relevant duties within his/her technical competence as may be requested by FAO.
Requirements
- Advanced University degree (preferred) in agriculture, agricultural extension, or rural development studies recognized university. However, the degree must be with complementary knowledge in designing capacity building programs and projects.
- Must have at least five years of professional and practical work experience in the planning and implementation of rural development. Also, emergency agricultural programs/projects at the field or regional level.
- Also, experience working with TESDA, Agricultural Training Institute, and other related government agencies is an advantage.
- Language requirement: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Tagalog.
- He/she must have intermediate to advanced computer skills in the use of standard office software; such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A national of the Philippines.
