Position: Assistant Professor of Sports Management
Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor will contribute to the new master’s degree in Sports Management at USU and may also include teaching at the undergraduate level. S/he will be doing the following duties in particular.
- Demonstrate excellence and expertise in teaching a variety of courses in Sports Management.
- Conduct and publish research in the area of expertise. Similarly, provide mentorship to students and assist in the coordination of professional experiences for students.
- Collaborate with community and industry partners that are beneficial to program success.
- Commit to the department, university, and professional service.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications
- Doctorate in Sports Management or a related field at the time of appointment (August 2020). In addition to that, evidence of the ability to demonstrate excellence in teaching courses in Sports Management and related disciplines.
- Ability to be an effective student mentor as well as to develop a research program that leads to scholarly output.
- Similarly, the ability to contribute to the university and the Sports Management field through academic and public service/engagement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and collegiality among peers and constituents.
