Department for General Assembly and Conference Management announces the vacancy for Administrative Officer at UN in New York.
- The position is of a Program Management Officer.
- This position is located in the Meetings and Publishing Division, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM).
- The main objective of this position is to enhance content management and digitization practices, including conservation, migration, and preservation on an extra-budgetary project basis.
- additionally, the Programme Management Officer reports to the Chief of Section, Conference Services in the Meeting Services Section.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will do the following duties
- He/she plans, implements, evaluates and directs the Digitization project activities, establishes priorities for production in keeping with effective operations, resources, and objectives by monitoring and analyzing the project development
- Also, the candidate reviews relevant documents and reports; forecasts risk and issues to be addressed; initiates corrective actions to mitigate the risks and so on
- He/she will also research, analyze and present information gathered from diverse sources
- Also, the candidate should identify resource requirements, including software, consultants and vendors as outlined in the Project Scope.
- Additionally, he/she should establish production and quality control standards and procedures with other Divisions
- Likewise, the incumbent will coordinate the formulation of overall policies, procedures, objectives, and guidelines in support of the Project deliverables
- Also, he/she should organize and prepare analysis, sections of reports and studies.
- In addition to that, the candidate participates, on behalf of the Project, in departmental offices and at working groups, task forces, and other fora
- Also, guides, trains and supervises staff assigned to the Project.
- Along with that, he/she coordinates activities related to budget funding and prepares related documents/reports (work program, project budget, etc.).
- Furthermore, the incumbent should perform other duties as required.
Eligibility
The incumbent must meet the following requirements for the Vacancy of Administrative Officer at UN
- The candidate must have an advanced university degree in business administration, communications, information systems, social science or a related field.
- Also, a first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Additionally, he/she must have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or program management, administration or related area.
- Moreover, the incumbent must be fluent in English (both oral and written)
- Furthermore, knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
- Professionalism: Knowledge of content management and digitization practices, including conservation, migration, and preservation. Ability to conduct research and provide recommendations on content management trends, including metadata standards.
