Duties
The incumbent will do the following duties
- Coordinate the strategic planning process, the development of the multi-year strategies and annual operational plans for the Division, including preparation of the DIST’s Annual Programme Review submission.
- Additionally, he/she will ensure, through the supervision of the Resource Management Unit, that the Division’s financial and human resources are managed in a competent, efficient, and effective manner.
- Likewise, ensure, through the supervision of the Strategic Sourcing Unit, that all supplier contracts in a competent, efficient, and effective condition.
- Furthermore, through the supervision of the Strategic Sourcing Unit, ensure that the Division continues to identify and introduce new technologies that will benefit the Organization; identifies and develops new strategic partnerships, and maintains strong relationships with the existing strategic partners.
- Additionally, the candidate will make sure, through the supervision of the Asset, Configuration & Change Management Unit, that these functions are firmly embedded within all parts of DIST and beyond.
Qualifications
The candidate should meet the give criteria for the Vacancy for Chief of IT Planning at UNHCR in Switzerland
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in information technology. Of which 5 spent managing service delivery in a complex, global environment with both centralized and decentralized operations, systems, and services.
- Similarly, substantial knowledge in IT service management, supplier relationship management, vendor management and strategic sourcing to support IT operations.
- Likewise, demonstrated experience working with strategic suppliers in delivering services based on service level agreements.
- Also, proven experience in preparing tender documents, reviewing technical submissions, and contract negotiation.
- Experience working with business partners to understand how IT affects an organization and link it to business processes and operational tasks.
- Furthermore, experience in project monitoring and control, data analysis, and presentation for executive review and decision making.
Language

- Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English.

- Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English and local language.
