Duties
The incumbent will do the following duties as an Education Officer
- Developing and running hands-on workshops for international groups of secondary school science teachers and young students;
- Also, Developing ELLS resource kits and training materials;
- Recruiting and training interested EMBL scientists as tutors for workshops
- Similarly, Supporting the ELLS school visitor and school ambassador programs
- Likewise, Liaising with similar activities in Europe to exchange teaching materials and best practices
- Also, participating in other ELLS science education and outreach-related activities at EMBL.
Qualifications
The incumbent must have the following qualifications
- He/she should have a passion for science communications and science education.
- The candidate should have completed a Masters degree in the Life Sciences.
- Also, he/she should have several years’ experience in developing and running science education and engagement programs in a European context.
- The position requires outstanding organizational skills, good attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Furthermore, the ability to work both independently and in a team is essential.
- The company prefers previous experience in project management, organization of events and digital media.
- In addition, excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Fluency in German would be an asset.
