Weill Cornell Medicine opens applications for the post of Director for Housing Program.
Responsibilities
The incumbents will do the following duties
- They provide residents with information, clarifies housing policies/procedures and provides feedback on housing issues.
- Also, they should develop and utilize reports and metrics to manage housing assignments, waitlists, housing terminations, and relocations
- Also, they will develop operational procedures and tactics to execute moves and housing transitions.
- They should extend relationships with external vendors, landlords, and partners to provide direct services or contacts with regards to moves, storage, brokers and any other relevant housing items.
- They will serve as a liaison with senior leadership within Student Affairs, Graduate School, Education Administration, Legal Affairs and Cornell Ithaca to address and resolve issues as needed, ensuring accurate and effective service delivery.
- Additionally, they will represent the interests of housing programs on WCM committees; drafts and presents policy recommendations
- Similarly, the directors should manage housing documents and housing agreements. Also, they will assist with connecting individuals to the private market, when applicable.
- Likewise, the directors should assist with managing the housing budget. Also, prepares annual budget projections for income and expenditures. They will also monitor expenditures and reconciles accounting statements.
- In addition to that, the director will oversee the student billing function and payroll process.
- Furthermore, they should determine staffing needs and oversees personnel actions for the department including hiring, termination, and promotions.
Eligibility Criteria
The interested applicants must meet the given criteria for the post of Director for Housing Program.
- They should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
- Also, five years of experience leading a housing department within a higher education institution may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
- Additionally, they should have a minimum of 5 years of housing program management experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within higher education.
- Also, previous experience working with a housing management system, such as StarRez.
- They must demonstrate analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, coordinate, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Likewise, they must have exceptional oral/interpersonal skills to communicate and interact in a confident, positive and effective manner with a diverse clientele, using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Similarly, the incumbents must have proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications, especially MS Excel.
- Furthermore, demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting.
