Teacher Jobs, A greek based humanitarian organization, A drop in the Ocean is seeking a motivated, capable and qualified Volunteer English Teacher to teach English in the Skaramagas Camp, Athens. The purpose of A Drop in the Ocean is to provide support for people who are on the run, as well as to spread the word about the current situation for refugees and migrants. Where appropriate, our main focus will be on helping children and their mothers. A Drop in the Ocean was founded in September 2015 and has since then organized more than 5500 volunteers to go to Greece, where the need for help is high.

Roles and responsibilities

The volunteer English teacher will be responsible for the following duties

• Maintain and develop routines for operating classes
• Train volunteer staff
• Ensure safety procedures are followed
• Report weekly to the English Project Coordinator
• In cooperation with the English Project Coordinator, ensure adherence to an instruction of English curriculum, schedule, and daily lesson plans
•  instruct and facilitate daily afternoon English classes

Required qualifications

• Experience teaching English as a second language
• Good leadership skills
• Service-minded and experienced with problem-solving
• Experience with humanitarian work
• Fluency in English.
• Minimum 25 years old
