The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group calls application for the vacancy of Upstream Analyst in South Asia, East Asia, and Pacific.
Duties and Responsibilities
Donor Reporting & Platform Management for IFC’s Cities Program:
- Drafting concept notes and implementation plans related to South Asia and East Asia Regional Cities Platforms and bi-annual donor and project supervision reports for these two Platforms.
- Collecting and aggregating Regional Cities Platform advisory pipelines and budgets for sharing with the broader team.
- Furthermore, Ad hoc support to Cites Asia Team as required.
Event Management & Business Development Support for IFC’s Cities Program
- Helping keep track of various internal and external industry events relating to cities.
- Back-up support to Regional Platforms for the execution of TechEmerge programs, study tours, and event briefings for management participating in external fora and client meetings.
- Similarly, helping prepare high-quality presentations, briefings and other outreach material for different audiences, including clients, development partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Also, general research support, including sector, country and city mapping to support business development, sector deep dives and strategy formulation, as requested.
Content & product development for IFC’s Cities Program
- Conducting strategic research and participate in working groups to advance IFC’s thematic focus areas in CitiesSupport to the Cities team to design and articulate core (but customizable) advisory products.
- Working with regional and industry colleagues to ensure buy-in and quality.
- Developing knowledge products including presentations, case studies, Lessons Learned, training material, etc.
- Furthermore, facilitating knowledge management and continuous exchange with other teams and relevant experts within IFC and the World Bank Group and cultivate relationships between different stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Economics or Public Policy or a closely related field.
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience - Experience in infrastructure-related projects, work in municipal infrastructure will be considered a strong asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions
- Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries and time zones
- Proactive, initiative taker with strong teamwork skills
Ability to manage and complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines under pressure - Enthusiasm for emerging markets and commitment to supporting sustainable development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.
- Demonstrates the ability to influence and persuade others to accept ideas and suggestions (such as counterparts in government, international partner organizations, academia, and Bank colleagues, senior staff and managers).
- Furthermore, fluency in other languages is a strong plus.
