Funded Scholarships are available for international students also at University of Tasmania.

University of Tasmania is a public research university in Tasmania, Australia. With its establishment is 1890, the university is the fourth university to be established in Australia. Moreover, the university offers various undergraduate and graduate programs in a range of disciplines, and has links with 20 specialist research institutes, cooperative research centres and faculty based research centres. Furthermore, it is famous for its commitment to excellence in learning and teaching. Above all, the university is in 287th position in the QS World University Rankings 2019. Also, it lies in the top 10 research universities in Australia and in the top two per cent of universities worldwide.

University of Tasmania also offers a range of scholarships towards the tuition for its students. The scholarships depend on the student’s academic achievements, faculty as well as level of study. One of the high-awarding scholarships available for international students at the university is the Tasmanian International Scholarship (TIS). The scholarship provides commencing international students with a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of their course.

Eligibility Criteria

Available to all commencing international students who submit an application to study one of the eligible programs offered.

Generally, applicants will require the equivalent of an overall B+ average or higher, depending upon the course and scholarship eligibility requirements (with the exception of the Health courses). Selection for this scholarship will be based on academic merit achieved in studies at secondary, diploma and degree level courses, and qualifications and grading scales can vary significantly from country to country. Applications are assessed for all semester intakes and selection for this scholarship will be based on an applicant’s highest level qualification prior to commencing their intended study program (minimum one year duration).
