Applications are open for Better Photography Magazine Photo of the Year 2021. The Better Photography Magazine Photo of the Year 2021 Award is open to all non-professional photographers. A non-professional photographer does not work full time as a photographer and/or has earned less than AUS $10,000 in the past 12 months from photography. You can be a member of a professional photography organization (e.g. AIPP), as long as your earnings are under AUS $10,000 in the past 12 months.

Prizes

• First Prize ($2000 Cash): The overall Photo of the Year award will be selected by the judges from the 10 highest scoring portfolios, a portfolio being the top four scoring entries from an entrant. To be eligible, you will need to enter at least four entries (in which case you could also get your fifth entry free). The prize is AUS $2000 in cash to do with as you please. That should buy you a nice new camera, lens or monitor.
• Four $750 Category Prizes: There are also four Category Prizes of $750, bringing the total cash prize pool up to $5000. The Category winners are selected from the top 10 highest scoring entries in each category.

Specification

Entrants must upload their Entries as digital files via www.betterphotographyphotocomp.com and comply with the following specifications

• AdobeRGB or sRGB colour space, 8-bit
• Measure 3000 pixels on the longest side
• Be saved as a JPEG at a setting of 8 (80%) or higher
• Winning Entrants must also be able to provide a high resolution (full size) digital file suitable for offset printing if required.

Additional Details

• The program helps every entry receives a judge’s comment to help you improve your photography. Many past entrants have noted how useful these comments have been.
• Your photographs are professionally judged by three AIPP Grand Masters of Photography and every entry gets a score.
• The best images will be awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.
• There are four exciting Category Awards, each with a first prize of $750.
• Entrants with three or more entries are also eligible for the prestigious Better Photography Magazine Photo of the Year 2021 Award with an AUS $2000 cash prize.
• Entries are open from 10 June 2021 and close 31 July 2021.
• Results announced by 15 September 2021
