Applications are open for the European Landowners Land and Soil Management Award 2024/2025. The prize rewards land use and soil management practices mitigating soil threats i.e. soil degradation, erosion, reduction of organic matter content, diffuse contamination, and compaction as well as the reduction of soil biodiversity, salinization, sealing, flooding and landslides.
The award plays a crucial role in highlighting exceptional achievements in the field of land and soil protection, celebrating those who have introduced innovative and impactful concepts that contribute to the preservation and sustainable management of our land resources. By recognizing these efforts, the award not only promotes the development of new ideas but also encourages their practical implementation in land management practices across Europe and beyond. This recognition helps to raise awareness about the critical importance of land and soil functions, including their role in maintaining biodiversity, supporting agriculture, and mitigating climate change. The winner of the award is honored annually during the Forum for the Future of Agriculture, which serves as a key platform for discussing these pressing issues. In 2025, the award ceremony will take place on April 1, providing a moment to celebrate the achievements and inspire further efforts in land and soil stewardship, fostering sustainable land use practices across extended territories.
