Health Rich announces the application open for the Current Writing Contest 2021 on the theme Work and Womanhood.
Participants must submit an essay on the theme of “Work and Womanhood” to share your stories, experience, and perspective. An essay must address the question “How has your identity as a woman affected your career, jobs, and/or your relationship with money?”
Prizes
One 1st-place, one 2nd-place, and up to 10 finalists will be published. All winners get a mentor session and lifetime membership in our community of contributors. 1st- and 2nd-place winners also receive a cash prize.
- 1st place: $250, publication, mentor session, community membership.
- 2nd place: $75, publication, mentor session, community membership.
- Finalists: publication, mentor session, community membership.
- All entrants get a free one-year subscription ($70 value) to Field Notes, an exclusive newsletter series of stories, tips, and resources to be a happy and healthy freelancer.
Submission
In order to submit your essay for consideration:
- Create the essay in a Google Doc with sharing settings on “Anyone on the internet with this link can edit.”
- Fill out the submission form below, and add the Google Doc link.
Additional Details
- Health Rich Writing Contest requires Google Docs because they facilitate collaboration well and anyone can create an account for free. If you prefer to compose elsewhere, just copy+paste your essay into a Doc to submit 🙂
- It asks for a summary. Don’t fret over it. Healthy Rich Writing Contest won’t judge your summary. It just helps them confirm your essay fits the theme.
- It doesn’t publish anything without your permission. You’ll hear from Healthy Rich if they’re interested in your essay, and you’ll approve all edits before publication.
Eligibility
- Healthy Rich Writing Contest is open to all trans and cis women writers, regardless of previous experience or publication.
- An essay must be on the theme of “Work and Womanhood”
Judging Process and Criteria
- Publication decisions are determined by Dana Sitar, Healthy Rich Co. founder and editor, and Farrah Daniel-Bermudez, a Healthy Rich writing contest judge.
- Winning essays will fit the theme, showcase exceptional writing, and provide our audience a valuable perspective on work, money, or both.
- All submissions must be original and previously unpublished. No simultaneous submissions are eligible.
