Applications call for International Experimental Competition in Visual Arts. The program invites artists to submit works related to the need to experiment, and thus take risks, interference, or uncontrolled actions in the field of artistic practice, regardless of the formal workshop.
Each artist can submit a maximum of 1 work / 1 project in the field of visual arts, created in 2018-2020, without restrictions on discipline. Projects or works can be both interdisciplinary and multi-element as well as made in a traditional workshop.
The aim of the International Experimental Competition in Visual Arts is best formulated by the following words of Jan Tarasin: “Art constantly repeats attempts” and “good artwork always stimulates.” The artworld is a dangerous expedition of imagination towards the immeasurable, unstable, and pulsating world of which we are part. Taming the imagination with the unbalanced, changing rhythm of dramatic conflicts and monotonous repetitions is done through openness to the relativism of perceiving space, time, boundaries, scale, and significance of micro-history. This also allows for attempts to convert the language of the conventional symbols into a suggestive expression of the autonomous forms and signs, to replace the static descriptions (…) with the experience of a dynamic spectacle. Relativism and risk – provoking the imagination – demand new, precise decisions, solutions, and arrangements.
Applications should be sent by e-mail to the following address: [email protected] or by traditional mail in the electronic version from 15/04 to 30/05/2020.
