About the 2021/22 Competition Theme
Life cannot remain the same after conflict. Slowly but eventually it has to evolve into something else. The changing process cannot always be positive and it may take a long time to recover. Every life changes when the conflict enters their life including the family, society, country or even a kingdom. As time goes by we remember that conflict to honour the lost ones and reflect on the past.
In other words, we resolve, recover, rebuild, reflect and then finally remember the past events.
With this in mind, the theme of the 2022 competition is LifeAfterConflict.
In this competition, you can share your thoughts on how people, communities and countries build a life after conflict using poetry, art, speech and\or song.
Rules
The competitions are divided into age groups to ensure everyone gets a fair chance. There will be competition among the age group (9-11), (11-14) and (16-18).
Everyone should relate their work to the theme.
If you want the judge pannel to know about any special education needs, you should note it in the entry form.
Furthermore, participants should submit their work anonymously, i.e. you should not mention your personal details beside the title in your workpiece.
Throughout history, music has been used to reflect on conflict. Songs are a great way to tell stories, remember those who were lost and warn future generations. With your work, the following rules must be applied:
The song should be of a maximum of four minutes.
You should send a recording of the song along with a typed or written in a neatly handwritten version of the lyrics.
The lyrics can be of any language.
