Applications call for One Health Photo Competition (Cycle 2). At One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI), a key part of the mandate is to utilize innovative and creative ways to engage the public on correlated issues of human, animal, and environmental health while promoting the One Health movement across all relevant sectors.
One Health Photo Competition is the initiative of One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) which aims to promote image work of arts that have a One Health message or showcase an interaction between either human, animal, plant, or the environment. The first cycle was launched in June 2020 and received 93 entries from 15 countries all over the world. We shortlisted 12 amazing photos as semi-finalists and Abdulafiz Shittu from Nigeria emerged Winner.
The theme for this cycle is “Food Security and Livelihoods”. Moreover, the photograph should depict from an artistic and a descriptive point of view – stories, impressions, or occurrences around areas of livestock/crop farming and agriculture, and their impact on food security and livelihoods for humans and/or animals.
The winner of the One Health Photo Competition will receive a small compensation of $50.00. In addition to that, all shortlisted candidates will have their photos showcased on media platforms. Participants should follow OHDI’s Facebook and Instagram pages, where the final photo shortlists and voting process will be facilitated.
