Applications are open for Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography 2021. The Meitar Award for Excellence in photography, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the sixth time this year for a body of work that demonstrates excellence in the field of photography.

Program

A professional independent jury of leading international professionals will review all shortlisted candidates anonymously and will select a photographer who demonstrates thought, quality, originality, and excellence in photography, as well as the potential to create a comprehensive body of work suitable for a solo exhibition.

The 20 finalists will be showcased in a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival in November 2021 in Tel-Aviv. The award winner will be announced in November during the festival.

Winner

The winner will be announced in November 2021. The award winner will receive a $14,000 grant, composed of a personal grant of $2,500, curatorial guidance, and the production of a solo exhibition that will be part of the 2022 International Photography Festival.

Few Rules

The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography has the following rules

• Any photographer may register.
• You can submit 6-12 images.
• Applications must be submitted in English.
• You may submit one entry only.
• The early registration fee is $42 (until 12/7/2021), Late registration fee is 54$ (from 13/7/2021)
• All images must be in JPEG/JPG format, at least 1920 px on their long side and no bigger than 2MB each.

Selection

• The panelists will select 20 finalists for a group exhibition at the International Photography Festival, which will take place in November 2021 in Tel Aviv.
• A professional panel of judges will review all award finalists and will select a photographer who demonstrates thought, quality, originality and excellence in photography, as well as the potential to create a comprehensive body of work suitable for publication as a book.
