Asia-Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE)

Program Date: 9th- 22nd January, 2017

Venue: Bangkok, Thailand

The Asia-Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE) is a program that responds to the global need of meaningfully including the youth in SDG initiatives. By working with multiple stakeholders in the community and in decision making levels, youth delegates are given an unique opportunity to learn and hone the skills necessary to participate in SDGactivities.We also engage UN agencies in the process, theAPYE has three main components:

Leadership Development Training (10 – 12 Jan)

“Delegates will learn some insights about the relevance, and implementation of the SDGs. Design Thinking and team building will assist them to prepare for local immersion component. The knowledge, skills and toolsshared will prepare youth delegates to lead efforts that tackle the SDGs in their own communities.”

Local Immersion (13 – 18 Jan)

“In partnership with communities, NGOs, social enterprises and local governments, the immersion component challenge youth delegates to co-create sustainable SDG initiatives for the communities. This exposure is a unique opportunity to understand SDG implementation in the community level and the challenges that often beset them.”

Youth Symposium (19 – 20 Jan)

“A space for delegates to showcase their initiatives related to implement each SDG after their immersion. Various stakeholders such as UN Agencies, Government and Social Enterprises will participate, in order to evaluate, collaborate, incubate and sustain the ideas for the future. Through the career fair youth will be engaged with the opportunities in the future.”

APYE  Thailand

APYE in Thailand provide a unique experience for you beyond a seminar, a travel and a community service! We are aiming to connect Youth, Social Enterprise and Community to learn from each other and create a sustainable impact towards the community.

During the APYE in Thailand Program, you will learn more about how youth can put their action towards SDGs. You will experience living with local community in Thailand. Through this experience, you will be able to observe and understand the current issues that communities are facing. You will also get connected with Social Enterprises in Thailand who have success stories on solving problem in the community by working together with local people.

These are a unique learning that will empower you to achieve SDGs and create a sustainable impact to the society.
