ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Volunteers will work mostly in schools, kindergartens, daily centres, associations disabled children and adults, supporting teachers and providing additional activities for children. It total in project will be involved 10 volunteers living and working for 1 year in Milicz, from around Europe. We would like to show the inhabitants of the Milicz district that the pandemic has not severed our ties with other countries, nor has it destroyed the idea of solidarity and volunteering. We want to prove that out there are still young people who are ready to come here in this difficult time and work with people with disabilities, or young people and children in primary schools.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Project will take place in Milicz, it is a small city ocuppied by 15 000 citizens located in the Lower Silesian region in Poland, near to regional capital city – Wrocław/ Breslau (0,7 million citizens). Volunteers will live in 5 rooms CHOUSE (kitchen, bathrooms and all standard equipment).Volunteers will share room but only with one person. Our home is ocated in a walking distance to workplace, we don’t have any local buses or trams, however we provide for volunteers bicycles. Wifi-internet connection

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

On arrival and Mid term evaluation organized by Polish National Agancy. Learnign process and language lessons: Each volunteer will have a mentor and access to Polish lessons. Trainings provided by receiving and coordinating organizations like safety in the workplace, soft skills, team buildings activities etc.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Age between 18-30. Be motivated and dedicated to work. Speak communicative English. Be proactive. Open-mindedness, responsibility and sense of humor are also essential. For this specific project, taking into account it’s educational nature, volunteers should feel comfortable in working with children/teenagers and adults, as well as teaching them using non-formal methods.
