Looking for a scholarship that can help you attend the One Young World Summit 2023 in Ireland and represent outstanding young leaders from The Americas? The Leading The Americas Scholarships initiative might be just what you need.

With major leadership transitions taking place in the region, including protests in Chile, a humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, and a debt crisis in Argentina, young leaders are stepping up to bring positive change and set their countries back on track. The Leading The Americas Scholarship is designed to support these emerging leaders and provide them with access to the Summit.

If you’re between 18 and 30 years old and have demonstrated commitment to delivering positive change, capacity for leadership, and a track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas, you could be eligible for sponsorship. The scholarship covers access to the Summit, hotel accommodation, catering, and travel to and from Belfast.

The selection process is competitive, with the strongest applicants shortlisted in mid-May 2023. Priority will be given to first-time Summit attendees and applicants from countries that have been less represented at previous One Young World Summits. Note that One Young World cannot guarantee sponsorship for any shortlisted applicant or provide feedback on why candidates are not selected.

You are eligible for sponsorship if you:

• Are between the ages of 18 – 30*
• Have an evidenced commitment to delivering positive change
• Demonstrate capacity for leadership
• Are addressing key local and/or global issues in your work
• Have a track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas

Selection Procedure for One Young World Summit 2023 in Ireland

The strongest applicants will be shortlisted by mid-May 2023. You will be contacted individually by a member of the One Young World team if you have been shortlisted.

Please note:

• We cannot guarantee any applicant that they will be shortlisted or that we will secure sponsorship for any shortlisted applicant.
• Priority will be given to applicants from countries that have been less represented at previous One Young World Summits.
• Priority will also be given to first-time Summit attendees (not OYW Ambassadors).
• Due to the overwhelming amount of applications we receive, One Young World is unable to respond to individual emails enquiring about the outcome of the Leading The Americas selection process.
• We do not provide feedback as to why candidates are not selected.
