Become a YOJO Reporter – Paid 1–2 Year Journalism Placement in Athens

The YOJO (Young Journalists) Program by iMEdD offers an incredible opportunity for emerging journalists to work in a dynamic newsroom in Athens, Greece. This fully paid program includes hands-on reporting experience, mentorship, and cutting-edge storytelling techniques for a duration of 12 or 24 months, starting January 2026.

Who Can Apply?

  • Final-year students or recent graduates (since October 2023)
  • Fluent in English (Greek is a bonus, not required)
  • Curious, ethical, and ready to tell impactful stories
  • No previous newsroom experience needed
  • Able to relocate to Athens and commit full-time

  • Cohort Size: ~20 participants (40% English-language, 60% Greek-language)

  • 90-second video statement (English or Greek)
  • 2–3 work samples (articles, videos, or other media)
  • Two reference contacts
  • Brief answers about your goals, story interests, and motivation
