The MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP) is one of the most prestigious undergraduate summer research experiences in the world. Created to strengthen diversity and access to advanced research careers, the program allows talented undergraduates to spend the summer working directly with MIT faculty and researchers on cutting-edge scientific and engineering projects.

 Program Overview

MSRP is an intensive 8-week research program held on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Participants join MIT labs in fields such as engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, biology, economics, social sciences, and interdisciplinary research areas.
The 2026 program will run from June 8 to August 8, 2026.
