Exploring the E-T Temporary Program at the World Bank: Opportunities and Benefits
E-T Temporary Program participants play a crucial role in supporting the successful implementation of the World Bank’s operations. This position involves a wide range of office, project-related, and administrative tasks that may vary according to business needs and requirements, with a primary focus on providing general assistance to support current and anticipated country program activities.
Duties and Accountabilities
The team assistant will perform several functions related to the Unit’s content activities, including, but not limited to:
- Support the Resident Country Economist and Operations officer on daily tasks and provide administrative and logistics support.
- Assist the Country Manager / Country Director and missions managed by the Country Management Unit (CMU), including VIP visits, to Maldives. Assist with travel arrangements where needed – mainly local field visits.
- Provide support and logistical coordination for CMU-managed workshops, retreats, or learning events, sends invitations to participants and follows up on confirmation of attendance as necessary.
- Provide appropriate responses and directs clients/visiting missions to appropriate individuals for complex issues.
- Provide back-up support to World Bank administrative staff with visa coordination and facilitation of the visiting mission programs.
- Interact regularly with World Bank task teams, Government officials and other development partners to ensure efficient dialogue on program matters.
- Assist internal and external clients with general inquiries.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of Government officials, donors, UN Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, vendors and other institutions/persons.
- Handle courier services and delivery of letters/publications to clients as and when required.
- Provide backup to the Operations Officer as and when needed.

Selection Criteria for E-T Temporary Program
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- High organization skills with attention to details.
- Knowledge of World Bank policies and procedures and familiarity with project cycle is a plus.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in office information technology and programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Interpersonal Skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse team.
