Google Summer 2019 Internship opportunity is available for application. As a Hardware/Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work on Google’s core Consumer Hardware products. Depending on your background and experience, you will be working in one of the following areas:

Electrical Hardware Engineer
As an Electrical Hardware Engineer, you will design, develop and deploy next generation consumer hardware. Moreover, you have a hardware board design background and knowledge of system architecture for mobile products.

Hardware Test Engineering
As a Hardware Test Engineer, you design test equipment for prototypes of machinery and develop the protocols used to scale these tests for the entire global team. Working closely with design engineers, you give input on designs to improve our hardware until you’re sure it meets Google’s standards of quality and reliability.

ASIC Hardware/Software Engineering
You help build and program custom-designed chips that will enable amazing features in our future consumer devices as well as will become the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Available to work full time for either a 12-14 week internship or a 6-month co-op.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Hardware System Integration, Signal and Power Integrity, RF System Validation, Wifi, Bluetooth, Wireless Communications, Product Design, Test, Computer Architecture, Microarchitecture, Digital Logic Design, Digital Design Verification, Digital Circuits, ASIC Physical Design, Electronic Design Automation, FPGAs, Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, Firmware, System Software, Compilers, Hardware/Software Co-design, Emulation, Networking, Memory Systems, Design methodology.

Preferred

  • Pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and returning to it
  • Likewise, Research experience, teaching experience, previous internships, personal projects, and/or other related work experience
  • In addition, Authorization to work in the United States.

The 3-month internship will start on either May 28, 2019 or June 17, 2019 and will be a total of 12-14 weeks. The 6-month co-op will start on July 8, 2019 and end on December 20, 2019.
