UNDP Programme Intern Associate, Volunteer Solutions in Bonn, Germany
UNDP Programme Intern Associate, Volunteer Solutions continuance of appointment beyond the initial 12 months is contingent upon the successful completion of a probationary period.
Key Duties and Accountabilities UNDP Programme Intern Associate
1. Development and maintenance of volunteer tools
- Contribute to the implementation of volunteer management Conditions of Service (COS) and policies;
- Develop and periodically review the volunteer management standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Produce and maintain corresponding templates and system messages;
- Develop reference material and other prescriptive content for internal and external stakeholders;
- Maintain calculators to provide up to date information on amounts of Conditions of Service (COS)-related entitlements, and charges based on applicable policies;
- Provide clarifications and guidance on tools, and SOPs, and their changes
- Support oversight of entitlements and their adjustments in UNV’s and UNDP systems and liaise with UNDP GSSC payroll for implementation.
- Liaise with UN ICSC to ensure UN-wide decisions on compensation and entitlements are implemented as required
2. Development and operationalization of volunteer solutions
- Support the development and operationalization of standard onsite and online volunteer solutions;
- Support the collection of feedback from diverse stakeholders to assess the relevance of volunteer solutions and SPIs and suggest remedies;
- Draft relevant communications for dissemination on volunteer solutions
3. Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing
- Provide input on volunteer policies and systems for the purpose of continuous improvement;
- Provide input to the design of training materials and corporate activities towards building the volunteer solutions capacity of UNV personel;
- Address service desk enquiries relating to volunteer solutions and tools and produce standard responses to recurring questions;
- Synthesize best practices and lessons learnt for solutions and tools’ improvement and knowledge sharing;
- Manage the Volunteer Management Knowledge Base and Explore webpage
- Make contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice;
- Backstop for the Programme Associate, during absences;
- Serve on a rotational basis as a focal point for VSS on various topics;
- Perform other duties as may be required

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Secondary education with technical training in business administration, human resources or related areas;
- University degree in human resources, business or public administration, or related area is desirable, but it is not a requirement
Experience:
- 6 years of relevant work experience in volunteer management, personnel and/or business or process administration or 3 years with Bachelor degree education background.
- Experience in working in web-based management systems, preferably payroll-related would be an asset
- Experience in MS Office 365;
- Knowledge of the conditions of service of the UN Common System or of international organizations would be an asset.
- Experience working with Salesforce Service Cloud would be an asset;
- Experience in an international or non-profit context would be an asset
- Experience working with volunteers would be an asset.
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in Spanish or French an asset
