World Food Program Office, WFP in Tajikistan invites students to take part in 2020 PD summer internship on Resilience and Climate Change. The internship will be in the Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation Unit at WFP Country Strategic Plan in Tajikistan for the period of at least 3 months during May/June to August/September 2020. The WFP interns have access to an industry leading learning platform, WeLearn. In addition to that, he/she may participate in WFP workshops or seminars, as appropriate. Furthermore, the position holder will report to the Head of Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation Unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proposing project proposals and reporting template CPs working with WFP.
- Analyzing Resilience/Climate Change Adaptation Project Log-frames of on-going as well as planned actions
- Also, proposing changes to Log-frames structure and indicators to be aligned with WFP CSP 2019-2024.
- Delivering two training on Log-frame design and indicators monitoring and measurement for WFP staff and relevant CPs.
- Drafting two concept notes in line with WFP CSP 2019-2024 and its implementation strategy.
- Furthermore, supporting other duties whenever necessary.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a master’s degree OR a recent graduate of a master’s degree (graduated within the last 6 months).
- Excellent English verbal and writing skills as well as proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Good Academic Knowledge of Project Cycle Management.
- Basic Report and Training delivery skills.
- Furthermore, working knowledge of English (proficiency/level C).
Learning Outcomes
The WFP Summer Internship Program 2020 in Tajikistan on Resilience and Climate Chang will provide the following elements to the participants
- Very good understanding and overview of WFP’s work in Tajikistan, with a focus on project proposals and report, and the Resilience/Climate Change.
- Adaptation Project Log-frames of on-going as well as planned actions.
- Good understanding of Log-frames structure and indicators to be aligned with WFP CSP 2019-2024.
- Familiarization with drafting two concept notes in line with WFP CSP 2019-2024 and its implementation strategy.
- General understanding of WFP overall operations.
Stipend/Compensation
The PD intern will rec a monthly stipend of approximately USD 520 per month as a contribution towards basic subsistence costs. In addition to that, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
