Applications call for WFUNA International Model United Nations (WIMUN).
The World Federation of United Nations Associations aims to precisely simulate the United Nations in Model UN programs and provide students with the most realistic experience possible. The WIMUN program also features intensive training workshops taught by UN officials, briefings on important agenda items by UN Agencies, and a conference session in the heart of New York City in the North American edition.
Summary
The award-winning WFUNA International Model United Nations (WIMUN) is the world’s most accurate simulation of the United Nations. Located at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) moreover works closely with different UN entities to precisely simulate the United Nations in Model UN programs and provide students with the most realistic experience possible. Moreover, the WIMUN conference features intensive training workshops taught by a former UN staff member and briefings on important agenda items by the UN (and other) experts.
WIMUN Online
Due to the current and ongoing impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the WIMUN team has decided to move our WIMUN Geneva conference online. Despite the pandemic, WIMUN will continue to provide the most accurate simulation of the UN through Fall Online Conference, which is scheduled to take place from 30 October – 8 November.
Online simulations will take place over two weekends (31 October – 1 November and 7-8 November) with a wide variety of optional side events during the week (2-6 November). We plan to resume our face to face conferences once the pandemic is under control, but in the meantime, we will leverage technology to bring you a unique experience, unlike any Model UN conference you have experienced before.
Eligibility
- WFUNA International Model UN New York University welcomes youth between the age of 18 and 30 from North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, and Oceania who have experience in Model UN or have a high interest in global affairs and the United Nations.
- Delegate participants must be enrolled in a high school, university, grad school. In addition to that, should be a recent graduate under the age of 30.
- High school and university level conferences will operate separately with the exception of Opening and Closing Ceremonies, side events, and social events.
- Moreover, WIMUN Geneva also welcomes advisors who have a role in planning and organizing MUN conferences and teachers who use Model UN in their education curriculum.
