EdSurge Independent Cohort: Summer 2017
Are you passionate about education? Do you want your voice to be heard? Do you want to be part of a unique global community, run by and for students, which will challenge you, support you, and show you new perspectives?
Then consider applying to be a part of the EdSurge Independent Cohort.
We aim to convene a group of approximately 10–12 students who will form a tight knit and passionate community. We are aiming not just to discuss education and to write articles, but also to foster relationships between members of the cohort, to spark ideas for projects and start ups, and to network with big names in the education sphere.
Gain access to education’s top thinkers and doers through intimate small group discussions.
Learn about trends and new ideas in higher education
Build relationships with peers who are also interested in driving change in education.
Develop and polish your writing by contributing three pieces to the EdSurge Independent Medium Publication (edsurgeindependent.com).
Share your stories with a broad audience of faculty, administrators and Edtech leaders through the EdSurge Independent platform and other EdSurge channels.
Some examples of our previous guest speakers include: the Founding Dean of Minerva Schools at KGI, the Senior Program Officer for Postsecondary Success at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Senior Policy Advisor at U.S. Department of Education, and many others.
At the end of the cohort, you will have the opportunity to apply for a paid internship with EdSurge as a cohort leader for the following two semesters.
(Cohort runs from May 29th to August 4th 2017, with once weekly meet ups.)
