Applications call for the Nigeria Youth Network SDGs Champions Program.
The Nigerian Youth Network is an alliance of over 200 youth-led/focuses civil society organizations working together to ensure Nigeria keeps her promise to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both at home and abroad. The Network is actively providing opportunities for youth-led/focus civil society organizations to make their voice count as we hold government accountable for the SDGs and we raise awareness across communities telling everyone about the Sustainable Development Goals through providing data to track SDGs implementation in Nigeria, ensure collaborations amongst organizations and work closely with government, academia, business, and religious stakeholders to ensure that we achieve the SDGs by 2030.
The Nigeria Youth Employment Action Plan (NIYEAP) was developed by the International Labour Organisation, UN DESA, and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYSD), as a strategy to respond effectively to the youth employment challenge in Nigeria. The major objectives of the plan are to address fragmentation and harness technical and financial resources for meaningful impact. The plan targets young people between the ages of 18-29 years and details needed actions in support of employment creation for youth in critical economic and social sectors and outlines the financing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
Nigeria Youth SDGs Network (NGYouthSDGs) as a partner organization is recruiting youth advocates to raise awareness about the action plan, work with government, private sector and civil society leaders in their states to develop a framework to understand the aspirations of young people when it comes to decent work and evaluate the implementation of SDGs 4 and 7 in their states.
