Eligibility for 2023 Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program

• Applicants must be a national of a World Bank member country that is eligible to receive World Bank financing.
• Applicants must be in good health and hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) earned at least three years prior to the application deadline.
• Applicants must have at least three years of work experience in development-related fields after earning their undergraduate degree.
• Applicants must have applied to, or be in the process of applying to, a master’s degree program in a development-related field at a university in a World Bank member country.
• Applicants must not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
• Applicants must not be a staff member or relative of a staff member of the World Bank Group.
• The selection process is highly competitive, and preference is given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to development and who have relevant professional experience in their home country.
