Fully Funded Amgen Scholars Program Asia – NUS
If you’re an undergraduate student in Asia with a passion for biotechnology, life sciences or research, the Amgen Scholars Program Asia at the National University of Singapore offers a remarkable opportunity. Program Overview
Hosted by NUS, this program is part of the global Amgen Scholars initiative. It brings together undergraduates who wish to explore careers in scientific research and provides hands-on work in biomedical or biotechnological labs. During the summer, participants will work with NUS faculty in life sciences departments and partner units, deliver a project presentation, and take part in seminars, networking events and an Asia Symposium. (NUS Biological Sciences)
Eligibility & Requirements
To apply:
- You must be registered in an undergraduate degree at a college/university in the Asia region and have completed at least your first year by the time the summer begins. (NUS Biological Sciences)
- You should not graduate before the program ends and you must resume your undergraduate studies afterwards. (NUS Biological Sciences)
- Strong academic record and good working knowledge of English. If your institution is not taught fully in English or English is not your first language, test scores like TOEFL iBT 72, IELTS 5.5 or equivalent are required. (NUS Biological Sciences)

What’s Included?
The program offers a generous support package:
- Accommodation on campus for the duration of the program. (NUS Biological Sciences)
- Stipend of SGD 6,000 for the 8-week period. (NUS Biological Sciences)
- Travel grant for international students (up to SGD 1,500) covering airfare to Singapore and from Japan (for the Asia Symposium) to home country. (NUS Biological Sciences)

Important Timeline for 2026
- Online applications open: 1 November 2025.

- Program begins: Scholars arrive 30-31 May 2026; orientation 1 June 2026; research attachment begins 1 June and ends 31 July 2026. Scholars depart for Asia Symposium in Tokyo: 4-6 August 2026.
