Fully Funded Fellowships at Stanford university 2026-27

Stanford’s Asia Health Policy Program (AHPP) at the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) offers this fellowship to recent PhD graduates. Its mission: cultivate researchers focused on health and health policy in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in low- and middle-income country contexts.

Fellows undertake original research on contemporary health or healthcare policy topics relevant to Asia, drawing from disciplines like public health, economics, sociology, political science, law, medicine, etc.

Eligibility & Conditions

  • Applicants must hold a doctorate (PhD) conferred no more than three years prior to the fellowship start. For MD degree holders, this limit extends to six years.
  • Degree conferral must be finalized by 30 June prior to the fellowship start.
  • The fellowship is in residence; fellows must be on Stanford campus for the full appointment.
  • The minimum duration is 10 months; salary and research allowance are pro-rated accordingly.

Benefits & Support

  • Base salary of USD 80,000 (subject to Stanford policy), prorated for a 10-month period.
  • USD 3,000 allocated for research expenses.
  • Ability to present findings in center seminars and engage with APARC’s publication program.
