The Google News Initiative Fellowship offers paid summer placements to journalism, technology or design students who want to gain valuable work experience and build lifelong contacts. This is a unique opportunity that can allow fellows to kick-start a career in the news industry.
In addition, Fellows will be able to learn from experts and connect with other students from across Europe. Depending on the needs of each newsroom, fellows will research and write stories, contribute to open source data projects, create visuals and interactives, as well as look into data to accurately frame public debate.
The European Journalism Centre is delivering the GNI Fellowship in the EU and Google News Initiative is funding the programme. Their mission is to develop the next generation of European journalists working to inform, engage, as well as inspire audiences.
