🎓 University of Nottingham: Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship

The Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship is the flagship postgraduate scholarship program at the University of Nottingham, aimed at supporting students from Africa, India, and selected Commonwealth countries who are committed to catalyzing positive change in their home countries. (University of Nottingham)

Since its inception in 2001, the scholarship has enabled talented individuals to pursue full-time master’s (including MRes) courses, particularly in areas that will help them develop solutions to pressing challenges in economic, environmental, structural, social, or political sectors. (University of Nottingham)

What Does It Cover?

  • Tuition Fee Scholarship: Covers 50% or 100% of the full-time master’s tuition fees for one year. (University of Nottingham)
  • The scholarship is for one academic year only. For two-year master’s programs, it typically applies to the first year’s fees. (University of Nottingham)
  • The awarded scholarship is applied to the tuition fees directly — not paid to students. (studyinuk.com)
  • Note: It cannot be combined with other University of Nottingham scholarships — only the highest value award will apply. (University of Nottingham)

How to Apply

  1. Obtain an Offer First

  2. Apply via NottinghamHub
Use the scholarships section of the NottinghamHub portal to submit your application. (University of Nottingham)

  3. Prepare Strong Responses
The application will ask you to articulate your vision and concrete plan for how your studies will help you address development challenges in your home country. Your responses will be assessed closely. (University of Nottingham)
  4. Meet Word Limits & Accuracy
Adhere to word counts strictly, avoid exceeding limits. The university may not assess responses that exceed the allowed length. (University of Nottingham)
Ensure accuracy — the university may withdraw scholarships if information is found to be misleading. (University of Nottingham)
  5. Accept Your Offer & Wait for Decision
You don’t need to accept your study offer before applying for the scholarship, but scholarship awards will only be made to candidates who accept their offer. (University of Nottingham)
