Scholarship Value & Benefits
The UTS award ranges from €3,000 to €22,000 for one academic year. For two-year Master’s programmes, recipients may receive an additional award of the same amount for the second year — provided they meet specified academic performance criteria after the first year. (Universiteit Twente)
Eligible Programmes & Students
- The scholarship is open to non-EU/EEA students admitted to a Master’s programme at UT starting September 2026 (or the relevant academic year). (Universiteit Twente)

Admission & Academic Standards
Candidates must first apply for and obtain a (conditional) admission letter to a qualifying UT Master’s programme. Then they can apply for the UTS using their student number.
English language proficiency is required (Academic IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90 with minimum sub-score 20 in speaking) and applicants should belong to the top 5-10% of their class at their previous institution.
For two‐year programmes, continuation of the scholarship into the second year requires:
- A minimum average grade of 7/10 at the end of the third quartile of the first year
- At least 50% of European Credits (ECs) completed by that time (Universiteit Twente)
Application Deadlines & Process
- Round 1 application window: Opens 15 October 2025 at 09:00 CET; closes 1 February 2026 at 16:00 CET. (Universiteit Twente)
- Round 2: Opens 1 February 2026 at 16:00 CET; closes 1 May 2026 at 16:00 CET (for programmes starting September 2026).
Applicants should ensure they complete the admission procedure to their Master’s programme first, then submit the scholarship application using the student number provided by UT.
