Scholarships are available for international students as well at Monash University.

Monash University is a public research university based in Melbourne, Australia. Having the motto of “I am still learning”, the university is the second oldest university in the state of Victoria. Founded in 1958, the university has a number of campuses, four of which are in Victoria (Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula, and Parkville), and one in Malaysia. Monash is home to major research facilities, for instance the Monash Law School, the Australian Synchrotron, the Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct (STRIP), the Australian Stem Cell Centre, 100 research centres and 17 co-operative research centres. The university is famous for its excellence in education as well as research. Above all, it is in the 59th position in QS World University Rankings 2019. Also, it is ranked in 6th position in Australian universities.

Monash University offers an extensive range of courses and research degrees to its students to help them pursue the field they choose. Moreover, it offers a number of scholarships to help its students attend the university. The scholarhsips are mostly based on academic merit or faculty, for instance, Monash International Scholarship for Excellence, Monash Scholarship for Excellence. One such scholarship is the Monash International Merit Scholarship. This scholarship is for students from all countries who have received an offer from Monash or who are currently enrolled with the university.

Eligibility for the Scholarship

You must be an international student

  • Intending to enrol full-time in undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • For commencing students, you must have received a Monash offer.
  • For current students, you must have completed a minimum of two semesters in Australia
  • Current students enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) course or the Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) course must have completed at least three semesters.

Benefits

  • $10,000 per annum (48 credit points of study) per year until the minimum number of points for your degree is complete
  • Commencing undergraduate students need to apply for a place in Monash Minds, a leadership program for first-year students.

Selection Criteria

  • Based on academic achievement.
  • Current students must have achieved a minimum weighted average mark of 85
  • Students will also be assessed on their scholarship application statement (500 words), and their potential to be an ambassador for Monash University.
  • Preference to commencing students.

Applying

  • You must submit a separate application form for this scholarship (due dates below).
  • Before applying for this scholarship, you must have received a full Monash course offer with no conditions.
